Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Project Manager for AS/400 applications to lead complex delivery, enhancement, and modernization initiatives in Property and Casualty Insurance. You will collaborate with developers, QA, BAs, architecture groups, and stakeholders to ensure reliable enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities include end-to-end planning, risk management, and ensuring compliance with security and audit requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing large-scale enterprise application projects.
• Deep knowledge of the AS/400 ecosystem and insurance domain is a plus.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Strong communication and leadership across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of AS/400 projects, including scope definition, schedules, resource plans, budgets, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
• Oversee application development, enhancement, and modernization initiatives involving SQLRPGLE, RPGLE, Db2 for i, CLP, RPG, and AS/400 utilities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions to protect delivery timelines, scope, budget, and quality commitments.
• Partner with Property and Casualty Insurance stakeholders to translate policy administration, claims, and billing requirements into actionable user stories and technical specifications.
• Manage quality, change, release, and deployment activities by establishing acceptance criteria, reviewing test strategies, coordinating release plans, and validating post-production stability.
• Provide clear and concise project reporting to business and technology stakeholders, covering delivery progress, financial performance, risks, dependencies, and required decisions.
• Ensure project activities comply with enterprise architecture, information security, data protection, documentation, and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by applying lessons learned and addressing recurring constraints within AS/400 application delivery processes.
