Job summary

Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) seeks a Divisional Technology Partner for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences to align IT investments with divisional priorities and coordinate enterprise applications across Harvard.

In this hybrid role, you will work with divisional leadership to plan IT roadmaps, manage demand, triage issues, and drive governance for technology initiatives, while communicating change and building consensus across stakeholders.

  • Experience working in the FAS, Harvard, or a complex higher education setting.

Responsibilities

  • Document local FAS technology needs and gather feedback on IT systems and services.
  • Manage IT investment request intake.
  • Partner with FAS divisional leadership to align technology investments with academic and operational priorities, ensuring IT initiatives are prioritized and/or funded within defined governance guardrails and resource budget.
  • Facilitate FAS divisional demand planning, including IT roadmap development and shared visibility into intake, portfolio tradeoffs, and resource capacity.
  • Coordinate with counterparts across the FAS to identify shared solutions to common problems.
  • Produce annual report of divisional IT investments and impact.
  • Represent divisional perspectives on FAS and University-wide enterprise applications and platforms.
  • Serve as first point of escalation when warranted; triage and assess issues that warrant higher-level review.
  • Prioritize FAS unit needs and resolve issues within resource budget.
  • Diagnose whether issues stem from technology, policy, or business process, and route accordingly.
  • Approve limited exceptions to service catalog parameters for access to IT resources.
  • Make FAS computer refresh and allocation decisions within established lifecycle policies.
  • Socialize and communicate IT change initiatives within the division.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to address sensitive matters and build consensus; provide guidance to colleagues and arrange or deliver trainings as needed.
