Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, and specialty items. You’ll finish items with artistic detail, ensure quality, and deliver outstanding service while upholding safety standards.

You’ll mentor apprentices, manage production, and assist customers with a focus on fresh, delicious offerings. Flexible schedule and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent.
• Prior bakery or grocery retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures; maintain records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display cases and ensure freshness.
• Provide guidance to Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean work area.
