Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of bakery products and respond to questions with helpful suggestions.
• Offer product samples and prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, using proper equipment.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs and preferences.
• Ensure product quality and freshness; monitor sell-by dates; operate bakery equipment per guidelines.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory bakery merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers; keep up with ads and promotions.
• Maintain inventory awareness and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to health, safety, and compliance regulations.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report needed repairs.
• Report safety risks or incidents to management.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
