Job summary

Kroger is seeking a bakery associate to create an exceptional customer experience in-store. You will assist the department manager in reaching sales goals, maintain a safe and clean environment, and help customers with product knowledge and recommendations.

Responsibilities include baking and decorating items, ensuring quality, labeling and stocking merchandise, and adhering to health and safety standards while delivering friendly service.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is required.
• Bakery/cake decorating experience is required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential for customer service.
• Ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced store environment.
• Basic math skills are needed for transactions and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and help customers in the bakery and department.
• Gain knowledge of bakery products and respond to questions/suggestions.
• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
• Follow health, safety and sanitation standards per company guidelines.
