Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a kitchen prep professional at The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club in Virginia Beach. You will prepare foods to standard recipes, stage items, and maintain accurate food handling practices in a high‑quality luxury setting.

Role requires dexterity and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, with strong communication to coordinate with servers and chefs. Competitive benefits accompany a comprehensive hospitality program.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Finger/hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
• Date all food containers and rotate per HEI Hotels and Resorts standards; keep perishables at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use; determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line setup.
• Assist in setting up plans to correct food cost problems and to control waste and usage.
• Operate, maintain and clean equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, mixer, slicer, oven, and grill.
• Return unused food to designated storage areas and cover/date perishables.
