Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Curating and setting up art displays (as well as transporting art when needed) in high-traffic areas to market the onboard gallery, generating art awareness and interest among cruise guests. Art can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  2. Initiate and engage in consultative conversations with guests, educate guests about the onboard art program and art auction business, determine a client’s level of interest, and develop sales leads.
  3. Independently manage the full sales process.
  4. Generate client invoices while answering shipping, payment, and fulfillment questions.
  5. Be punctual: arrive early for any events that involve guests as they often arrive early to events.
  6. Participate in all required shipboard safety trainings and drills.
  7. Develop and maintain a promotional mindset, which includes constantly marketing the artwork, the gallery, and yourself.
  8. Be coachable and willing to diversify your knowledge with the program, the collection, and logistics.
  9. Develop and maintain positive relationships with shipboard management, staff, and crew while remaining compliant with cruise line operations and requirements.
  10. Be open to both positive feedback as well as constructive feedback.
  11. Continued education of sales process & art knowledge. Training is provided and mandatory.

Qualifications:

  1. Must speak English fluently, have excellent communication & interpersonal skills (C1 level English).
  2. Previous cruise, hospitality, or sales work experience preferred.
  3. Strong organization and ability to comfortably multi-task.
  4. Self-starter, dedicated and capable of thriving in a highly dynamic, intense environment.

Compensation:

  1. Accommodations and meals on board are provided, as well as travel to and from ship assignments.
  2. Entry-level Art Associates earn a weekly guaranteed base pay, as well as commissions on net sales and are eligible for performance bonuses.
