Job summary

Tampa Electric Company is seeking a Supervisor Security Officer to oversee armed security operations across TECO sites in Brandon, FL. You will lead a team, coordinate patrols, and ensure protection of critical infrastructure and personnel.

The role requires 5+ years of armed security or related experience, 2 years in a supervisory role, a Florida Class G license, and a high school diploma; preferred are further criminal justice qualifications and security certifications.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Florida Class G security license (Security Guard).
• 5 years of armed security, law enforcement or military experience.
• 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate/bachelor preferred.
• Preferred CPR/First Aid; FEMA ICS/NIMS training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and evaluate a team of armed security guards.
• Develop and manage patrol schedules for critical areas.
• Conduct briefings and debriefings with security staff.
• Monitor performance and ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate with management and external responders during incidents.
• Perform roving patrols of substations, control centers, and facilities.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies; document incidents in reports.
• Maintain logs and assist investigations as needed.
