Job summary

Tampa Electric Company is seeking a Supervisor Security Officer to lead and coordinate armed security operations at energy infrastructure sites. The role involves supervising guards, conducting roving patrols, inspecting security systems, and coordinating with law enforcement and internal teams.

The position requires a Florida Class G license, 5 years of armed security or related experience, and a strong focus on safety, documentation, and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of armed security, law enforcement or military experience.
• 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Florida Class G security license required; firearms training proficiency.
• CPR/First Aid preferred; FEMA/NIMS training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and evaluate a team of armed security guards.
• Develop patrol schedules for continuous coverage of critical areas.
• Conduct briefings and debriefings with security team.
• Monitor guard performance and enforce policies.
• Serve as liaison between security team and management.
• Conduct roving patrols at substations and generation facilities.
• Inspect perimeter fencing, gates, CCTV, and access points.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies; document activities.
