Job summary

Tampa Electric Company in Florida seeks a Supervisor Security Officer to lead armed security patrols at critical infrastructure sites. You will supervise a team, coordinate roving and fixed-post patrols, and ensure rapid response to alarms and incidents while maintaining strict safety protocols.

Required: high school diploma, 5 years armed security or related, 2 years supervisory, Florida Class G license, firearms proficiency. Preferred: associate or bachelor’s in criminal justice.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class “G” license (Security Guard License) under Florida State Statutes 493 and 790.
• 5 years of armed security, law enforcement or military experience.
• 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of security principles and incident documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and evaluate a team of armed security guards.
• Develop patrol schedules to ensure continuous coverage of critical areas.
• Conduct briefings and debriefings with security team.
• Monitor performance and enforce policies.
• Coordinate with management and law enforcement during incidents.
• Maintain logs and prepare incident reports.
• Carry and maintain firearms and security equipment; ensure certifications.
