Job summary

Walden Security is actively seeking experienced Court Security Officers (CSOs) to provide armed security at courthouses under the USMS contract. Responsibilities include entry control, roving patrols, and securing courtrooms and corridors while enforcing federal law and court rules.

Candidates must meet strict requirements including a GED or high school diploma, minimum three years as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalent, English proficiency, valid driver’s license, DOJ

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalent with general arrest authority.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license and safe driving record; DOJ clearance; completion or graduation from certified law enforcement training academy.
• Other Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Physical Demands: Must meet medical standards as specified by USMS; reasonable accommodations may be made.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control using security screening equipment to detect weapons and prohibited items.
• Roving patrol of court facilities and grounds.
• Stationary post assignments including monitoring CCTV, duress alarms, and courtrooms.
• Escort duties to provide armed security for judges, court personnel, jurors, etc.
• Garage parking and pedestrian control; direct traffic and lights as per procedures.
• Enforce federal law and protect government employees, property and the public.
• Prepare reports on labor hours, incidents, and security issues.
• Secure unattended courts, inspect courtrooms prior to proceedings, test security devices.
• Maintain courtroom order and enforce judicial orders and local court rules.
