Job summary

The Department of Economic Security (DES) in Phoenix seeks an Eligibility Interviewer to determine eligibility for Medical Assistance, Nutrition Assistance and Cash Assistance. This on-site position requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office.

You will participate in paid classroom training, interview clients in person or by phone, collect information, and navigate multiple computer screens to complete applications.

Qualifications

• Experience in eligibility reviews or customer service preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Google Suite or Microsoft Office.
• Core math skills required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in-person or by telephone in a fast-paced office.
• Attend paid classroom training with on-the-job training.
• Provide excellent customer service to individuals and families.
• Collect information to determine eligibility for Medical, Nutrition, and Cash Assistance.
• Enter data and navigate multiple screens during interviews.
• Adhere to agency standards and metrics.
