Job summary

CITY OF DETROIT LAKES is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to operate and maintain the sports arena complex, grounds, and mechanical equipment. The role includes ice rink prep, refrigeration system care, electrical work, and general facility maintenance.

Training will be provided. Position requires flexibility to work odd shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, with a Minnesota Driver’s License and related certifications desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in building repair/maintenance or related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds, facilities, ice rink, public address system and related areas.
• Prepares and grooms ice rink; operates refrigeration and cleaning equipment.
• Maintains chillers, condensers, air distribution and testing equipment.
• Performs general maintenance and repairs; inspects arena equipment.
• Opens/closes facilities and participates in safety training.
