Job summary

Columbus Consolidated Government seeks a versatile Facilities Maintenance Worker to support arena operations and grounds upkeep. The role involves configuring spaces for sports and events, maintaining floors, and assisting with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and concrete tasks.

You will also manage landscaping, clean-up, and equipment care in a busy venue setting. The position requires practical experience with motorized tools, forklift operation, and basic trades knowledge.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of facilities and grounds repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of safe operation of motorized equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance principles.

Responsibilities

• Configure arenas for events including basketball, football, hockey and concerts.
• Maintain arena floors and equipment; clean, flood to ice; repaint logos and surfaces.
• Prepare spaces for luncheons, dinners, and parties.
• Assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and concrete finishing tasks.
• Operate material handling and maintenance tasks including unloading supplies.
• Oversee tool truck maintenance and power tools.
• Support landscaping, mowing, seeding, and waste removal.
• Direct traffic at work sites and events; operate forklift as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
