Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Area Supervisor who is a member of Store Leadership, responsible for a specific area of the Store and for general operations when acting as Manager on Duty. You will open and close the Store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly, easy to shop environment, ensure proper merchandise presentation, and execute company processes.

You'll lead safety, customer service, loss prevention, front-end operations, merchandising, stockrooms, and administration, coaching

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English for customer interactions and leadership.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience in retail.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for cash handling and reporting.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure store environment and enforces safety procedures.
• Open and close the store, supervise associates, and ensure a clean, well-presented store.
• Lead customer service through coaching and leading by example.
• Oversee merchandising, stockrooms, and backroom processes to company standards.
• Manage front-end operations, cashier training, and break scheduling.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by Store Manager, including payroll-related tasks.
