Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to oversee a defined store area and assist in the overall store operations. You will supervise Associates, ensure a safe and inviting shopping environment, and uphold company standards in merchandising and customer service.

The role emphasizes leadership in daily store activities, maintain safety protocols, and collaboration with Store Leadership to drive performance and shrink reduction across the sales floor.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store when assigned and supervise Associates on duty.
• Maintain a friendly, easy-to-shop environment with clean, well-presented merchandise.
• Ensure safety and security of customers and associates; monitor loss prevention practices.
• Supervise front-end operations and cashier procedures to meet service standards.
• Oversee merchandising in the department, including back stock and floor recovery.
• Coordinate daily administrative duties including payroll and scheduling as needed.
• Manage stockrooms: organization, cleanliness, and efficient receiving of merchandise.
• Support store leadership in executing company best practices and policies.
