Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead a specific store area and oversee general operations when acting as Manager on Duty.

You will open/close the store, supervise associates, ensure merchandise presentation, maintain a clean environment and uphold company processes. Responsibilities include overseeing safety, customer service, frontline operations, merchandising, loss prevention, and administrative duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments: understands safety is the priority and practices safe behaviors.
• Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; corrects or reports hazards.
• Responsible for security of building, EAS devices, cash office, and access control.
• Front End Supervision And Operations: ensures Associates execute to Company standards at the Front End and accelerates customer flow.
• Fitting Rooms: maintains cleanliness and audits fitting room tags.
• Administrative Duties As Assigned By Store Manager: handles cash, payroll, and other admin tasks as needed.
• General Merchandising and Loss Prevention: ensures merchandising standards, stockroom organization, inventory flow, and loss prevention.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: oversees Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads as applicable.
