Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. in California seeks an Area Supervisor to oversee a defined store area and assist the Store Manager in daily operations. You will open/close the store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly, easy-to-shop environment and ensure proper merchandising and back-room organization.

You will lead Front End and Operations, coach cashiers, manage breaks, and sustain loss prevention while ensuring safety and courtesy toward customers and team.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication and professional interaction with customers and team.
• Fluency in English required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and handle cash transactions.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a specific store area and support the Store Manager in daily operations.
• Open/close the store, supervise associates and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, stockroom organization and loss prevention.
• Lead front-end operations, coach cashiers and manage break schedules.
• Uphold safety, theft prevention and compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with leadership to deliver efficient, customer-focused service.
• Participate in merchandising, receiving and floor movement as needed.
