Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. in California is seeking a dedicated Area Supervisor to lead a defined store area and oversee operations when the Manager on Duty is unavailable.

You will supervise Associates, ensure merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean, welcoming shopping environment. Responsibilities include enforcing safety and loss prevention practices, coaching staff on cash handling, and ensuring Front End efficiency while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store and supervise during Manager on Duty shifts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and clean work areas.
• Maintain safety compliance and security measures.
• Provide frontline customer service and treat customers with respect.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers and loss prevention policies.
• Schedule Associate breaks and ensure staffing as needed.
• Manage front-end operations to minimize wait times.
• Oversee administrative duties and payroll as assigned.
