Job summary

Northern Lights Locating and Inspection is seeking an Area Supervisor - Locate to oversee field locators, ensure timely ticket processing, and support safety initiatives. You will monitor daily workflows, coordinate schedules, and supervise personnel with HR guidance to maintain service quality.

Qualifications include strong attention to detail, travel readiness (75%+), and excellent communication. The role demands industry expertise and a valid driver’s license with DOT eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor tickets on the Northern Lights portal and manage them for volume and efficiency.
• Locate designated areas to regulate volume and maintain customer quality.
• Assist with monthly field and computer audits as directed by the Regional Supervisor.
• Monitor hours through Clock Shark daily.
• Read and respond to emails/texts promptly.
• Stay available 24/7 with assistance.
• Supervise locators and handle personnel issues with HR guidance.
• Review and approve timecards Sunday evenings via email to the Regional Supervisor.
• Coordinate vacation schedules.
• Support team with daily issues.
• Maintain morale with locators.
• Determine locator working hours to manage tickets.
• Assist with difficult locates - schedule/meet-up.
• Responsible for equipment calibration and documentation.
• First level damage/damage reports documentation.
• Training new locators.
• Support safety initiatives.
