Job summary

Northern Lights Locating and Inspection is seeking a full-time Area Supervisor to monitor tickets, locate areas needing help, supervise locators, and coordinate schedules. This role requires extensive travel (75%+), strong communication skills, and hands-on leadership in a dynamic environment.

You will participate in audits, manage time and safety programs, and support field operations with a proactive, team‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Expertise in the locating industry.
• Ability to maintain a teamwork mentality.
• Knowledge of Northern Lights policies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a DOT physical certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor tickets throughout each day on the Northern Lights portal and move them to balance workload.
• Locate designated areas or where help is needed to regulate volume and maintain quality.
• Assist with monthly field and computer audits as directed by the Regional Supervisor.
• Monitor hours through Clock Shark daily and review timecards.
• Read and acknowledge emails/text messages; follow up as needed.
• Be available 24/7 with assistance as required.
• Supervise locators and handle personnel issues with management/HR support.
• Coordinate vacation schedules and approve timecards on Sundays via email.
