Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. in Lake Charles, LA is seeking an Area Supervisor to oversee a store area and support store operations as Manager on Duty.

You will open/close the store, supervise Associates, ensure merchandise presentation, cleanliness, and adherence to company processes. This role emphasizes safety, customer service, loss prevention, front-end supervision, and administrative duties by Store Manager's direction.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as needed and supervise Associates.
• Maintain merchandise presentation and a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensure adherence to Company operational processes and standards.
• Provide front-end supervision and coaching on cash handling and POS use.
• Assist with loss prevention and safety initiatives on the sales floor.
• Coordinate with Store Manager on Duty for daily administrative tasks.
