Job summary

Ross Stores in California seeks an Area Supervisor to lead a store area and ensure smooth operations. You will open/close the store, supervise Associates, and maintain a safe, attractive shopping environment in line with company standards.

Responsibilities include merchandising, staff training on POS and cash handling, adherence to loss prevention, and daily administrative duties under Store Leadership. This role requires evening/weekend availability and strong customer service orientation.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as Manager on Duty and supervise Associates.
• Ensure proper merchandise presentation and maintain a clean work area.
• Execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers and front-end procedures.
• Control break schedules and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Maintain loss prevention awareness and a high level of customer service.
