Job summary

Ross Stores in California seeks an Area Supervisor to lead a store area and oversee daily operations as Manager on Duty. You will open/close the store, supervise associates, maintain a welcoming, well-merchandised shopping environment, and ensure adherence to company policies.

You will drive safety, customer service excellence, and efficient front-end and merchandising processes, while coaching staff, managing schedules, and supporting loss prevention initiatives across the department.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the Store, supervise Associates, and ensure a friendly shopping environment.
• Ensure merchandise presentation and store cleanliness to company standards.
• Lead loss prevention and security practices, including PVM monitoring and codes.
• Train and coach Associates on cash registers and front-end procedures.
• Assist with payroll administration and scheduling as assigned.
• Supervise stockrooms and merchandising in the assigned department.
