Job summary

City of New York's Department of Transportation seeks an Area Supervisor to oversee Highway Maintenance crews and administrative staff, coordinating SIM/CWC operations including ramp installations and safety upgrades. Candidates must hold a Class B CDL with no air brake restrictions, and have multiple years of supervisory experience in roadway or bridge/tunnel maintenance.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in roadway/bridge/tunnel maintenance and repair, including supervision.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver License with no air brake restrictions; must be kept throughout employment.
• At least four years in a supervisory capacity with prior assignment to Level I or II as specified.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Supervisor Highway Repairers, laborers, and administrative staff assigned to SIM/CWC Operations including ramp installation, upgrades, and safety projects.
• Monitor inventory and ensure vehicles and equipment are operational.
• Attend meetings, prepare weekly reports, and provide updates to the Supervisor and Deputy Commissioner.
