The New York City Department of Transportation is seeking an Area Supervisor (Highway Maintenance) to oversee highway repair crews, laborers, and clerical staff within SIM/CWC Operations. The role includes monitoring inventory, ensuring vehicles and equipment are operational, attending meetings, and producing weekly reports for supervision and the Deputy Commissioner.

Residency is generally required, and a Class B CDL with air brakes is mandatory during employment.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time experience in roadway/bridge/tunnel maintenance and repair, including supervisory duties.
• Strong knowledge of procurement rules and minority contracting.
• Experience supervising a major operation and managing staff.
• Experience tracking inventory and supplies.

Responsabilités

• Supervise the Supervisor Highway Repairers, laborers, and administrative staff assigned to SIM/CWC Operations.
• Monitor inventory and ensure vehicles and equipment are operational.
• Attend meetings and prepare weekly reports; provide updates to the Supervisor and Deputy Commissioner.
