GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Area Supervisor is part of Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store, including general operations and supervision when functioning as the Manager on Duty. They oversee opening and closing the store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly shopping environment, ensuring merchandise presentation, and keeping the work area clean. They also execute and supervise company operational processes as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:
- Understand safety is the top priority and practice safe behaviors.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment; report unsafe conditions.
- Secure the building, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, Cash Office security, armored carrier pickups, and register area.
- Remove clutter and ensure clear emergency exits.
- Ensure customer safety, including accident prevention and emergency procedures.
- Test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after-hours alarms.
Customer Service:
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
- Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognize associates through company programs.
Personal and Store Brand:
- Represent and support the company brand at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance and ensure associates adhere to dress code.
- Keep all areas clean, well-maintained, and merchandised to standard.
- Responsible for daily trash removal.
General Merchandising:
- Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed per standards.
- Receive merchandise trucks as needed.
- Process all merchandise with urgency.
- Handle inbound deliveries and maintain stockroom organization.
- Assist in delivering and placing merchandise on the sales floor.
- Secure and process back-stock according to policy.
- Merchandise the department, including back stock.
- Reduce loss due to damage.
- Follow monthly presentation guidelines and manage floor moves and signage.
- Perform re-wraps as needed.
Loss Prevention:
- Follow Loss Prevention programs, maintain a strong customer service presence, and engage with customers and associates to prevent loss.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information.
- Maintain PVM system and conduct package inspections.
- Execute company best practices efficiently.
Front End Supervision and Operations:
- Maximize productivity and ensure standards are met at the Front End.
- Manage pace, energy, and customer line to expedite service.
- Train and coach associates on cash register and policies.
- Control break schedules and ensure equipment functionality.
- Maintain supplies and recovery in the Front End area.
- Ensure merchandise is properly scanned, security tagged, and ticketed.
- Teach best practices for scanning and bagging.
Fitting Rooms:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitting rooms.
- Audit and account for garment tags and ensure return compliance.
Administrative Duties:
- Conduct cash pulls and deposits per policy.
- Manage front end controls, including refunds, tills, and schedules.
- Handle payroll administration and other duties assigned by the Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with POS equipment.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Ability to use store equipment, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to lift over 25 lbs occasionally. Specific requirements for stockroom shifts are also included.

The pay range for this role is $19.50 - $20.00, dependent on experience and location. Benefits include insurance programs, discounts, 401K, and other perks for full-time employees.
