Job summary

OSL Retail Services in Des Moines, IA is seeking a dynamic Area Sales Manager to lead our Mediacom Direct Sales team. You’ll drive residential customer acquisition through face-to-face selling, coach a field team, and execute strategy to grow market presence.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, you’ll hire, train, and motivate 10–15+ reps, monitor performance metrics, and collaborate with internal partners to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading sales teams in field, retail, direct sales
• Proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets
• Strong coaching, communication, and people leadership skills
• Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining sales talent
• Willingness to travel throughout broad territory
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of 10-15+ Direct Sales Representatives
• Drive revenue, customer acquisitions, appointments, close rates
• Conduct field coaching, ride-alongs, and performance reviews
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train new sales representatives
• Deliver daily huddles, team meetings, and recognition programs
• Monitor sales activity and pipeline performance to hit objectives
• Manage schedules, attendance, payroll inputs, and HR-related matters
• Develop daily territory plans and market-coverage strategies
• Partner with internal stakeholders for flawless program execution
• Ensure compliance with policies and customer experience expectations
• Lead by example through active field presence
