Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager in Phoenix, AZ to lead a team of hourly staff and drive safety, quality, attendance, and performance across shift operations. You will engage your team, remove roadblocks, and ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location.

Key responsibilities include mentoring the workforce, collaborating with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, and HR to meet business goals, while managing take-home duties such as lifting up to 49 pounds and working

Qualifications

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Experience managing a team of 20+ employees (preferred).
• Experience with process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field.
• Industry experience in retail, food & beverage, military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production or distribution environments.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
• Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
• Collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to meet objectives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
• Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
• Work in environments with variable noise and temperatures.
• Continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable.
