Job summary

Blank Street, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a 5+ store area and the General Managers who run them. You will hire, coach, and develop an A* team, own your area’s P&L, and drive a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement.

You will partner with the Director of Operations and Field Leadership to scale future leaders and deliver exceptional experiences for teams and customers across our stores.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality, retail, or another fast-growing consumer business.
• Experience leading multiple locations (3-10) and developing the managers who run them.
• Passionate about hospitality and creating exceptional customer and employee experiences.
• Strong operational and financial judgment; able to read P&L and KPI dashboards and act on insights.
• Proven ability to hire, coach and develop managers and lead through change.
• Able to plan a quarter ahead and translate priorities into actionable plans for GMs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for Slack, Notion, emails and area meetings.

Responsibilities

• Be Our Ultimate Hospitality Leader: coach GMs to build systems, behaviors and processes that uphold hospitality standards.
• Hold the bar: audit standards via store visits and data, close gaps quickly with GMs.
• Join the field leadership to help scale future leaders and deliver top-tier customer experiences.
• Own the talent pipeline: calibrate hiring and promotion decisions across the area; set succession targets.
• Build an area-wide culture: foster teamwork, speed, energy, collaboration and fun across stores.
• Know your numbers: manage KPIs and PnL; set weekly and quarterly priorities.
• Plan for demand: translate quarterly forecasts into store-level plans; communicate expectations to GMs.
• Land change and innovation: roll out new initiatives with clear communication, training and adoption tracking.
