Job summary

Amazon in Illinois is seeking an Area Manager to lead a team of 50–100 associates in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will mentor and develop staff while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity, with hands-on leadership on the floor.

The role requires standing and walking during shifts up to 12 hours, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Starting pay is 70,000 USD annually with benefits.

Qualifications

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment as applicable.
• Keep peers and leadership informed on shift performance and risks.
• Walk the floor regularly to stay connected to your team, spot issues early, and keep things running smoothly.
