Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Area Manager to lead a team of hourly associates in one of our Illinois fulfillment centers. This full-time, entry-level role focuses on motivating, mentoring, and ensuring safety, quality, attendance and performance on the floor.

The ideal candidate will manage 50–100 direct reports, communicate effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced warehouse environment with shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Relocation support is offered where eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree with all requirements completed between May 2024 and August 2026.
• All degree requirements must be met before the first day.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
• Shift patterns may include nights, weekends and/or holidays; most sites follow a 4-day work week
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks and PIT equipment
• Work in environments with variable noise levels
• Lift up to 49 pounds and perform related physical tasks
• Climb and descend stairs where applicable
