Job summary

Amazon is seeking a student Area Manager Intern for a 10-week summer program in California facilities. You will coach and develop a team of 50–100 associates, drive process improvements, and manage shift operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, project development with site leadership, and exposure to daily operations. Enrollment in a relevant bachelor’s program is required, with strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.

Responsibilities

• Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of Amazon Associates.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities) and step in as needed.
• Work in an environment where the noise level varies.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
• Climb and descend stairs (when applicable).
