Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Area Manager Intern for a ten-week summer program (40 hours/week) in one of its fulfillment centers or operations buildings in the United States. You will learn to coach, motivate, and mentor a team of 50-100 associates while delivering an internship project in partnership with site leadership.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership development, extensive training, and the chance to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with hourly staff across the Operations

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with all requirements anticipated to be completed between December 2027 and August 2028
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.

Responsibilities

• Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing and able to regularly work shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, operate PIT equipment (at applicable facilities) and step in as needed.
• Work in an environment where the noise level varies.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
• Climb and descend stairs (when applicable).
• As an Area Manager intern, you will have the opportunity to learn how to coach, motivate and mentor a team of Amazon associates in a warehouse environment.
