Job summary

Amazon is offering a ten-week Area Manager Intern internship in Virginia. You will learn to coach and mentor a team of 50–100 associates, drive standard work, and lead an intern project with site leadership collaboration.

This on-site program runs 40 hours per week during Summer 2027 in a fast-paced fulfillment setting. Qualifying students are enrolled in a bachelor’s program and must complete all requirements around December 2027 to August 2028.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with anticipated completion between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering or another related field.

Responsibilities

• Learn to coach, manage and develop a team of 50–100 Amazon Associates.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Work independently and operate in an autonomous warehouse environment.
• Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Willing to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Oversee truck deliveries, handle and sort packages using pallet jacks, and operate PIT equipment.
• Participate in daily shift routines and communicate risks and priorities to leadership.
• Develop and articulate the internship project with site leadership.
