Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Area Human Resources Director to lead HR across multiple divisions and operation units. The role partners with the Area President and local managers to align business objectives with employees, overseeing HR managers in the field.

You will drive employee and labor relations, diversity initiatives, performance management, compensation, benefits, and development programs, with substantial travel. Strong strategic and influencing skills are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of directly applicable experience as an HR Generalist or Manager across all HR functions.
• Experience supporting multiple operating locations and leading HR initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and contract negotiations for bargaining agreements.
• Ability to influence without formal authority and align HR with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and administration of all HR phases across divisions and units.
• Partner with Area President and managers to align business objectives with employees.
• Oversee employee relations, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and talent management.
• Drive diversity & inclusion, performance management, training, and organization development.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to attract and select talent; travel ~50%.
