Job summary

NMS Camp Services in Prudhoe Bay is seeking a Remote Vac/Water Truck Driver to operate and maintain water and wastewater trucks, load/unload at fixtures, and deliver or pickup commodities in an Arctic remote camp environment.

Daily duties include tank checks, hose connections, basic vehicle maintenance, safety evaluations, and adherence to all safety guidelines. Must possess CDL A/B with tank endorsement and meet pre-employment testing requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CDL Class A or B is required for the trucks.
• Tank endorsement N or X for tanks >1,000 gallons.
• Valid DOT medical/physical.
• 2+ years of safe operation of large commercial vehicles in Arctic work settings.
• Water Distribution I and Wastewater Collection I certificates recommended.
• Able to operate hand and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license with clean 3-year record.
• Must pass pre-employment testing (drug, physical, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Empties or fills tank as required and assists in loading/unloading.
• Counts material or reads gauges to record quantities loaded/unloaded.
• Drives truck to customer locations.
• Connects hose to tank and docks as needed.
• Performs maintenance, fueling, and minor repairs on vehicles.
• Maintains pumps and motors in vehicles and plant.
• Supports plant operators in daily operations and maintenance.
• Attends safety toolbox meetings and conducts job safety evaluations.
• Notify lead operator if safety/ sanitation standards are not met.
• This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned by department.
