Job summary

NANA Regional Corporation seeks a Remote Vac/Water Truck Driver to operate large vehicles in arctic environments, perform loading/unloading, and support daily plant operations at remote camps. Responsibilities include safety meetings, pre-employment testing, and coordination with the lead operator.

This role requires a valid CDL, physicals, and strong teamwork in a remote setting. Work is remote with rotational shifts in Alaska, with travel to remote yards and occasional site visits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a class A or B CDL as required for the trucks.
• Tank endorsement N or X is required.
• Valid D.O.T physical is required.
• Two years’ experience operating large commercial vehicles in an arctic work setting.
• Water Distribution I and Wastewater Collection I certificates recommended.
• Must be able to safely operate various hand and power tools.
• A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.
• Must pass all pre-employment requirements which may include hair follicle drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test.
• Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team.
• Must be able to make decisions with little supervision.
• Must be able to stand 12 hours per shift.
• Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

• Empties or fills tank as required or assists in the loading/unloading process.
• Counts material or reads gauges, meters, or other measuring systems to record quantities loaded or unloaded.
• Drives truck to customer's/clients premises.
• Connects hose to tank and/or fixtures and places truck in position at loading docks/areas.
• Performs various mechanical maintenance, repair, and fueling/oil duties for assigned vehicles.
• Maintains pumps and motors in vehicles and plant.
• Assists plant operators in day-to-day operations and maintenance.
• Attends daily safety toolbox meetings and is required to do job safety evaluations for each job.
• Required to obtain C.E.U.'s acceptable to ADEC toward obtaining various water treatment licenses.
• Leads daily safety toolbox meetings and is required to do job safety evaluations for each job.
• Notify lead operator if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
• Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
