Job summary

NMS is seeking a Remote Vac/Water Truck Driver to operate a truck for potable water and wastewater fixtures, deliver or pick up various commodities, and support plant operations in a remote Alaskan camp. The role requires CDL A/B, N/X tank endorsements, and DOT physical, with long 12-hour shifts and dormitory housing.

Candidate must be able to work independently, read gauges, and perform limited maintenance. Safety training and pre-employment testing are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL (A or B) for the assigned trucks.
• Tank endorsement (N or X) due to 1,000+ gallon tanks.
• DOT medical card/physical required.
• Minimum 2 years in safe operation of large commercial vehicles in arctic environments.
• Water Distribution I and Wastewater Collection I certificates recommended.
• Must pass pre-employment testing including drug screen and fitness assessments.
• Ability to read gauges/meters and operate tools safely.
• Must live in or travel to remote camp settings and work long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy trucks to load/unload at water/ wastewater sites and docks.
• Record quantities loaded/unloaded from gauges and meters.
• Drive to customer locations and position at loading docks.
• Connect hoses and perform basic vehicle maintenance and fueling tasks.
• Attend safety toolbox meetings and conduct job safety evaluations.
• Assist plant operators with day-to-day tasks and operations.
