Job summary

GCI is seeking an entry-level Field Service Technician I to install, service, and troubleshoot Video, Data, and Voice services at residential and commercial sites in Alaska. A $2,500 hiring bonus is offered, and incumbents will support senior technicians while gaining hands-on experience with telecom installations and testing equipment.

The role requires basic technical aptitude, a High School diploma, and a willingness to complete certifications and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; six months in a technical role preferred.
• Associates degree in electronics or related field preferred.
• Certifications such as Defensive Driving and DOT training may be required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot Video, Voice, and Data services from demark to customer premises.
• Perform preventative or corrective maintenance on RF, analog, microwave, fiber optic, and electrical components.
• Assist senior technicians and mentor junior staff on install, test, and repair tasks.
• Maintain basic vehicle upkeep, stock, and safety compliance.
