Job summary

Ware Malcomb is seeking a Technical Specifications Writer to develop comprehensive project manuals for Architecture and/or Interior Design projects. You will collaborate with project teams to prepare specifications, client masters, and support submittal reviews, shaping quality across our firm.

Ideal candidates bring extensive construction knowledge, strong communication, and experience with MasterSpec, Bluebeam, Word and Excel, plus a background in architecture or interior design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design is preferred.
• 15+ years in Architecture/Interior Design with at least 5 years writing specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Extensive experience with construction materials and building codes.
• Experience using MasterSpec, Bluebeam, MS Word and Excel preferred.
• Public speaking ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive project manuals based on information from Management Teams.
• Suggest alternate solutions when necessary.
• For complex projects, schedule periodic reviews during document development.
• Review comments with Management Team and respond to questions or concerns.
• Mentor junior staff members.
• Stay knowledgeable about products and industry standards and trends.
• Be a general resource to the company for technical questions.
