Job summary

Applied Data Finance is seeking a Director of Fraud Strategy and Analytics to own end-to-end fraud strategy, analytics, and risk operations across our subprime consumer lending portfolio. You will set the risk appetite, govern policies and rules, and lead a remote team of strategists, analysts, and data scientists.

You will partner with revenue, product, risk, data engineering, and compliance to balance loss mitigation with approvals, unit economics, and customer experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in fraud strategy/analytics in consumer lending or fintech.
• 5+ years leading teams (managers and ICs).
• Consumer-lending fraud experience non-negotiable.
• Hands-on SQL and Python/R for independent data pulls.
• Ability to translate fraud analytics to executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Owns fraud strategy roadmap across application, funding, and post-book fraud.
• Defines fraud risk appetite and governance; aligns with enterprise risk.
• Governs policy, rules, and decisioning thresholds end-to-end.
• Directs portfolio fraud monitoring and KPI tracking; action on drift.
• Oversees fraud models and scorecards; partners with data science.
• Leads third-party signal strategy and vendor management.
• Interfaces with risk operations: reviews, disputes, and recoveries.
• Partners with product/data teams on data sources and platform evolution.
• Defines test-and-learn standards with experiments and holdouts.
• Ensures compliance with US lending regs and regulatory expectations.
• Presents executive-level fraud reporting to leadership.
