Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a full-time Forestry Technician to manage vegetation and operate forestry equipment in outdoor environments. The role emphasizes safety and practical hands-on training.

You will perform line clearance, pruning, and removal tasks, while learning felling, climbing, rigging, and equipment operation under supervision. Training is provided for on-site work in varying weather and terrain.

Qualifications

• Work in outdoor environments performing vegetation management and operating forestry equipment.
• Must be physically capable of handling outdoor labor and safety requirements.
• Must obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses including First Aid and CDL Class 3.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual removal of vegetation from work areas
• Safely operate forestry equipment, including woodchippers, hydraulic equipment, and chainsaws
• Perform line clearance, pruning, and removals
• Learn felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management
• Participate in paid hands-on, on-the-job training
• Work full-time, year-round in outdoor physical labor

Requirements

• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly
• Must be 18 years of age
• High School Diploma/GED/or equivalent
• Current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Able to work outside in various types of weather
• Physically able to walk on uneven ground and carry 75 lbs
• Willing to work at varying heights up to 75 feet
• Willing and able to learn how to run a bucket truck and operate equipment safely
• Willing and able to obtain a CDL Class 3 license
• Able to obtain First Aid and WHIMIS Certifications
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain licenses and certifications as required
• Must successfully complete a post-offer physical and drug screen
• Must successfully complete a background and motor vehicle check
