Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Solon, OH offers an Arborist Trainee Internship beginning Spring-Summer 2027. You will work in the field alongside experienced arborists, climbers and plant health care technicians to learn tree care, pruning, installation, and client service.

This internship provides hands-on training, safety-focused practices, and opportunities for career development across Davey’s four service lines. 40-50 hours per week, on-site with gear and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline
• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license a plus

Responsibilities

• Tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance
• Tree & Landscape Installation
• Safe operation of equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and other field tools
• Plant Health Care incl. deep root fertilization, soil care and pest/disease management
• Exposure to daily operations and business components of Residential Tree Care
• Client service, sales, management, and leadership fundamentals
