Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Solon, OH invites applications for an Arborist Trainee Internship beginning in Spring-Summer 2027. You will work in the field, learning from experienced Arborists and support staff while delivering high-quality client service and maintaining trees and landscapes.

Hours are typical 40–50 per week, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays. Salary ranges from $22 to $23 per hour, with hands-on training and safety commitments throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.
• Enthusiasm for proper plant care.
• Willingness to learn and grow with Davey.

Responsibilities

• Tree pruning, removal, cabling and maintenance.
• Tree & Landscape installation.
• Safe operation of equipment including chainsaws and chippers.
• Plant Health Care tasks and pest management exposure.
• Client service and team collaboration.
