Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering an Arborist Trainee Internship in Indianapolis, IN. This field-based internship begins Spring-Summer 2027, with hands-on training alongside experienced Arborists and landscape professionals.

You’ll learn pruning, cabling, plant health care, and safe operation of equipment while supporting client service and daily field operations. Driver’s license is preferred and CDL a plus.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
• Love of the Outdoors.
• Willingness to learn and punctuality.
• Collaboration and communication skills.
• Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Learn to be a tree doctor and support pruning, removal, cabling and maintenance.
• Assist with tree and landscape installation and safe operation of equipment.
• Gain exposure to Plant Health Care including deep root fertilization and pest management.
• Support daily field operations and client service under supervision.
• Work with arborists, climbers and landscape professionals to deliver excellent service.
