Job summary
The Davey Tree Expert Company in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Arborist Trainee Internship for Spring-Summer 2027. This field-based program offers hands-on experiences alongside seasoned Arborists, Climbers, Plant Health Care technicians and Landscape professionals to deliver exceptional client service while maintaining healthy trees and landscapes.

Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
- Love of the outdoors and willingness to learn.
- Reliability, punctuality and teamwork.
- Collaboration and communication skills.
- Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline.
- Driver’s license required; commercial license a plus.
Responsibilities
- Tree pruning, removing, cabling, bracing and maintenance.
- Safe operation of equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and other tools used in the field.
- Plant Health Care, including deep root fertilization, soil care and pest & disease management.
- Exposure to daily operations and business components of Residential Tree Care.
- Tree & Landscape Installation.
- Client service, sales, management and leadership fundamentals.
