Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a skilled Climber to join our vegetation management team in Colorado. The role involves climbing, pruning, and removing trees, following Foreperson directions, and performing storm restoration duties as needed.

Applicants should have experience or familiarity with rope work, rigging, emergency rescue techniques, first aid/CPR, and the ability to work safely at heights. A high school diploma is preferred, and willingness to travel for out-of-town assignments is

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal operations.
• Ability to climb/descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Emergency rescue techniques and first aid knowledge.
• Familiar with electrical hazards and aerial rescue near conductors.
• Ability to work at heights in varying/adverse weather.
• Physical strength, balance, depth perception, and hearing instructions.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson directives.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into brush chipper.
• Work from ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of tools/equipment.
• Enforce safe practices and keep area clean; safeguard employees/public from hazards.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
