Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Cash Receipt Accountant to support field units by verifying deposits, posting to the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with TSA policies and internal controls.

Under the Accounting Supervisor, you will prepare monthly cash receipt journal entries, reconcile BBCRM and bank accounts, train seasonal staff, and assist with audits and month-end/year-end projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 1-3 years of accounting or cash receipts experience.
• Training time about three weeks (100 hours).
• Proficiency with Excel and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly cash receipt journal entries for multiple units.
• Verify GL coding, supporting documentation and adherence to internal controls.
• Primary liaison with field units for cash receipt issues.
• Enter and reconcile income using AR module; generate AR statements as needed.
• Monitor cash receipt posting status and follow up on issues.
• Customize and maintain Excel Cash Receipt Transmittals forms for each location.
• Train seasonal cash receipts clerks and provide support to supervise temps.
• Assist with internal and external audits, month-end and year-end projects.
