Job summary

The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters in Carson, CA is seeking a Cash Receipt Accountant to support field units by verifying bank deposits, posting journal entries, and maintaining general ledger accuracy. The role focuses on cash receipts, BBCRM sub-ledger, and audits, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor.

You will prepare monthly cash receipt entries, reconcile accounts, train field personnel, and assist with month-end and year-end processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester (or 20 quarter) units in accounting.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; training ~ three weeks (100 hours).

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly cash receipt journal entries for multiple units.
• Verify GL coding, supporting documentation and adherence to internal controls.
• Enter and reconcile Income using AR Module; generate AR statements as needed.
• Monitor cash receipt posting status and follow up on issues.
• Train field personnel for cash receipts policy and procedures.
• Assist with internal and external audits, month-end and year-end projects.
